The Lesbian Lion

#LFW - February 20th Review

There was so much to choose from yesterday! Great shows all around! I’d love to hear what your favorites are so far? Does anybody else think LFW is too short?

Antonio Berardi:

Berardi has obvious architectural and structural tendencies in this collection. He masters this style with using just about everything to convey it. There are bulky fabrics, sheers, detailed work, simple, metallic, beading, leather, fur, etc… But all of the looks maintain that beautiful structure that is so well executed in this collection. Elegant architecture!

Burberry Prorsum:

Burberry Prorsum is innately London. Beautiful long double-breasted coats are a signature, but they add something more playful with this collection. Striped and patterned cut outs and elastic bow belts add something extra to their amazing knack for structured looks. There are also mixes from tight structure, to bulkier skirts and tops, and a playfulness with stripes and patterns. Their tailoring makes it perfect, as always!

Peter Pilotto:

Pilotto pairs interesting cuts with clashing patterns that create so much coolness! The colors used lend itself to a bold and eye jolting look! Sheers and solids mixed with floral and abstract patterns. Cut in all the right places to give a slimmer or more interesting silhouette. Master illusionist!

Honorable Mentions:

Erdem - Bold patterns and great variety! Almost too springy for A/W.

McQ Alexander McQueen – Structural gold that is McQueen, commercial yet different!
