How To Look Fab For Class (In a Flash!)

How To Look Fab For Class (In a Rush!) When it comes to dressing for class, there's a delicate balance you have to attain. You don't want to be too overdone or overdressed but you don't want to come across as sloppy. You also have to take into account the factor of time. If you have to get up early for school you don't want to wake up even sooner just because you can't figure out what to wear. So if you don't want to lay out your clothes the night before (or you're like me and you lay them out only to change your mind in the morning), you need a go-to outfit. You need a classic staple that you can easily change up in no time at all.

To do this, you need to start with a few basics, one of them being the perfect pair of jeans. For my outfit, I chose dark-wash skinny jeans because they're extremely versatile, perfect for tucking into boots or wearing with heels or flats. Your next staple is your outer layer, pick a neutral jacket, blazer, cardigan, etc. to pair with your jeans of choice. Having a neutral outer layer is super important because it's going to be the easiest to work with, it will go with everything, all you have to do is grab a top and go! The top is going to set the tone for the outfit so this is why you want it to change, a sequin top is going to make the outfit appear a bit dressier and is more of a statement while a solid color top is going to be very casual. If you want to mimic my look, a faintly printed loosely fitting tank conveys a softness in the outfit. Next you have a choice: 1) you can have a staple pair of shoes, 2) you can leave this as an element to switch around, or 3) you can leave your choice somewhere in between those two options. I'd recommend #3, having a go-to shoe for your look will save you a lot of time but having that flexibility helps you to further customize your look if you have a little extra time (or the perfect pair of shoes). Finally, the fun part: accessorizing! This step is super simple, all you need is one or two pieces of jewelry or accessories to help your outfit pop. I always like a bit of contrast so when I wear a soft, loose top I choose jewelry that has clean lines or some edge to it. You could go this route, or maybe you want to play the look up with accessories. You could add a complimentary scarf or a statement bag. The choice is all up to you as this is the most personality-infused part your perfect school style staple!
