#NYFW - February 15th Review

I had such a hard time narrowing my favorites down; I'd almost say just view all of yesterday's shows! But if you haven't the time, these are the shows you NEED to see!

Marchesa:

Almost reminiscent of McQueen's great designs; such great structure and polish! It reminds me of France aristocracy in a beautifully mysterious light! So many intricacies in every design. Mostly tight topped dresses with voluminous bottoms. Pretty blacks reds and neutrals with a mix of metallics. I wish we lived in a world where these things were worn daily!

Michael Kors:

Classic designs, as is the Kors way, but with little touches of the unpredictable; I mean, a heavy coat with such short shorts? Hot! Classic American patterns mixed with great ease. Polished with a sense of disheveled; love the asymmetric fur trim! Big outerwear with hugging dresses! Bold reds mixed with black and tans! I can see a women in at a rich ski resort having these clothes all over her.

Proenza Schouler:

Reminds me of an architectural project; very structured with volume and polish! Leather dresses; definitely some delicate Asian influenced prints incorporated but with a strong/confident crafting. Interesting big silhouettes, but still with commercial appeal. Pushing fashion forward; these guys can set trends so easily!

Honorable Mentions:

Anna Sui – Fantasy fashion collection with a great sense of polish and commercialism.

Threeasfour – Very interesting design, out of the box fun.

Vivienne Tam – Great clashing colors and a lot to look at.

Today is it for NYFW! How sad! Planning on doing my final day review tomorrow, a menswear reviews, and then a NYFW wrap up! So stay tuned, there's plenty to come!
