#NYFW - February 14th Review

Love was in the air yesterday and the shows took advantage of that! Pretty showings all around.

Oscar de la Renta:

These models were pretty pretty princesses. It had an older feel for a younger woman; pretty pale colors (different than the bold/darker fall colors), the drama came at the end of his showing and it was very big and glamorous! What made it successful was the generally gorgeous colors and classic designs with a touch of the unfamiliar!

Rodarte:

If I see a garment that makes my heart beat and jaw drop from joy, then it’s probably a good sign! There were many pieces that just screamed perfection! Such a great show on so many levels; much more commercial from what I’ve seen, but it is still so fashionable! Great tailoring paired with volume and flow! And just enough drama to be satisfied. By far, the best show of the day!

Sophie Theallet:

Bold, interesting colors and patters; some body hugging designs with some more loose moveable dresses mixed in; overall, very “autumn” palate; great pieces to mix and match and make them your own. Pretty! Almost a 60s style but for the upper class society. Clashing colors in a great way.

Honorable Mentions:

Alexandre Herchcovitch – Beautifully crafted patterns with solids! Just plain pretty.

Naeem Khan – Classic silhouettes and neutral palate with great patterns!

RAD by Rad Hourani – Military palate and structural gold!

I don't want the week to end! Unfortunately, we're almost there. Let's soak up as much as we can from these last few shows!
